Fabienne Delfour
Welfare
Fabienne Delfour has a PhD in Cognitive Ethology and a Habilitation a Diriger les Recherches (HDR). She teaches at Ecole National Veterinaire Toulouse in "Ethics, Ethology and Animal Welfare". She is also a qualified research director and scientific project designer in animal experimentation, ethics and welfare. She is a founding member of the Welfare Committee of the European Association Aquatic Mammals and a member of the Welfare Committee of Association Française des Parcs Zoologiques (AFDPZ). She is also director of Animaux et compagnies.
Fabienne is an author of several books and scientific articles. Her recent books: "Que pensent les dindes de Noël, Oser se mettre à la place de l'animal" Editions Tana (2021), "Dans la peau d'un dauphin", Editions Flammarion (2023).
For the last 25 years, she has been conducting etho-acoustic research on wild (bottlenose dolphins, indo-pacific dolphins, spinner dolphins, humpback whales, killer whales, spermwhales, manatees) and under human care marine mammals (bottlenose dolphins, killer whales, beluga whales, sea lions, manatees).
